As with everything during the time of COVID, Karla and Eric’s wedding needed to change significantly. There were some date changes, a smaller number of attendees... but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t beautiful. In fact, I’d say it was even more powerful and touching because of the circumstances.
I’d met Karla and Eric a while back when they were living in Hawaii. I was beyond excited for their wedding. At the time, I thought I was going to be flying from Honolulu to Napa Valley. Who would have guessed that because of my wife’s work, we’d be in Sacramento for a year. So instead of a plane ticket, I just needed to drive an hour. Just one of the many signs this was all planned by God!
I’d only passed through Napa Valley once before. I’ve never seen it’s full beauty until this wedding. There’s a quietness and stillness in the air here. And I mean that in the best way. The whole wedding felt surreal. Yes, many of us were wearing masks. Yes, there was some social distancing involved. But the heart of the relationship between Karla and Eric pervaded every moment and every photo.
